Been getting along better with my parents since I came out. Sure, there seems to be a don’t ask don’t tell policy in place but it’s there. I started realizing that it wasn’t about how far I should get away from them, but how much closer I should attempt to get to them. Someday I think they’ll be able to stitch together their perception of me again. I have faith that there are better days to come.
